~From the Tutorial Feature~

• Work through the challenges step by step to get comfortable with the game.

Clearing challenges at each level except Extra will unlock settings, allowing you to tackle them under various conditions.

When dialing a phone number from a handwritten note, for example, we are thought to use our short-term memory, or “working memory,” to temporarily hold information like numbers, especially when the sequence itself has no inherent meaning.
Cognitive psychology research indicates that, while there are individual differences, we can typically handle chunks of information—clusters of data—with a capacity of around seven, or 7±2.
This is known as the “Magic Number 7±2.”

This app will help you assess the capacity of your working memory.
Please verify for yourself whether this magic number is correct and whether its size is large or small.

＜Purpose＞

Present a number with a specified number of digits, hide it, then have the user recall and input the number. If it matches, it's OK. Perform 10 sets of these tasks and check the accuracy rate. Getting all questions correct is a Perfect Game.
Calculate scores based on the number of digits and accuracy rate, and compete with them. Scores can be recorded with nicknames and displayed in a ranking.
This is expected to provide the following benefits:

• Gain an estimate of your working memory capacity.
• Repeated practice may increase working memory capacity.
• Similarly, it may help prevent or slow down cognitive decline associated with aging.
• Improve concentration, and above all, getting answers right is fun.

＜Features＞

• You can choose the type of keypad for entering numbers—phone layout, calculator layout, or, on an iPad, a horizontal row layout—whichever is easiest for you.
• The number of digits, generation method, and display method are selectable.

Digit Length:

Each level offers three consecutive digit lengths and a mode where these three lengths increase in three stages from shortest to longest.

Number Generation Method:

Choose between a method that minimizes repetition (like drawing cards from a deck) or a completely random method.

Display Method:

Choose between displaying all at once or showing digits sequentially (step-up). A non-hidden method is also available, but the score will be 0.

• It is divided into four levels based on the range of digit counts.

Beginner:

5, 6, 7 digits. You can choose step-ups from 5 to 7 digits. Most people should be able to clear this.

Intermediate:

7, 8, 9 digits. You can choose step-ups from 7 to 9 digits. With effort, you should be able to clear this.

Advanced:

9, 10, 11 digits. You can choose increments from 9 to 11 digits. With effort, some may be solvable.

Extra:

11, 12, 13 digits. You can choose increments from 11 to 13 digits. This likely exceeds human capability.
Therefore, we haven't set a lock. Aim to solve at least some of them with your best effort.

• To make it easier to get started, we've included a tutorial feature.
• While primarily designed for individual use, you can register scores with a custom nickname when finishing a game, allowing you to compete with family members or friends.

The task itself is simple and straightforward, but actually performing it reveals how the difficulty skyrockets with increasing digit count, making for an interesting experience.
